My Own New Biz is a ground breaking new type of business that allows adults and children

alike to lead, learn and earn together. This unique business concept was born out of founder

Kate McLaughlin Kaplan’s deep, abiding passion to encourage, promote and teach financial

literacy to her two young daughters.

However, she didn’t just want to preach the message to them. She wanted to provide them

with ‘real time’, hands-on business experiences where they could learn practical financial

principles that would last a lifetime.

Our formula was created after many months spent researching business literacy concepts,

talking to banks, retail owners, non-profit organizations, financial experts, parents, foundations,

teachers and finally kids, finding out what they needed most to understand business and

succeed financially. After gathering and then merging all the information into a cohesive,

fun and exciting new business approach, she held her first workshop.

While doing so, it occurred to Kate that her ‘own new business’ model could be offered to

others who also desired to instill the My Own New Biz financial principles she was teaching

her daughters and make money doing it. Thus, My Own New Biz was born.
